American Glory BBQ – revisited – web shenangins??

After my original note on the arrival of American Glory BBQ up the street in the 300 “restaurant” block of Warren St., I was astounded by the stream of comments in response. After the number of comments passed five (it is now 15!!), I became suspicious that some, perhaps most, are being posted by people other than mere patrons of this establishment. This single posting has drawn more comments than any in the three year history of my website (in its earlier six years there was no comment capability on the site). The most recent commenter even comes right out and alleges that some of these comments have appeared verbatim on other websites. I have not investigated this allegation. Nevertheless, I admit to my doubts.

Leaving all of this web daring do aside, the restaurant remains a welcome addition to Hudson. It brings more life to the street. Soon, I will go for a meal. Swoon, next door continues to live up to its status as a legend. I hope that American Glory BBQ will turn out to be a legend too.

  1. At the end of the day it all comes to LAW and RIGHTS. Police have decibel meters, and Joe Fierro has one too. You can complain all day long about noise and activity but if there is no laws or codes being broken, then you might as well go bark up a tree. Neighbors complaining about noise and activity can try to change the decibel law, zoning laws, and public smoking laws or should consider moving out of the business district. Local businesses such as the Red Dot should react to the new competition by offering more attractive food, drink, or entertainment specials instead of jumping on the complaint bandwagon. There are no laws being broken here….there are only rights being utilized to a further extent that locals are used to. Here’s a new business with strong sales and huge customer support in the wake of a weak economy and uncertain times. Do I detect a bit of jealousy in the tone of these complaints? As somebody else put it, summer will end, the cool weather will come and the doors will be closed to keep the warm air in. They can’t all be antique shops people. The real illegal activity going on here is slander and libel, and those guilty are only HELPING Joe’s business because these days bad press is better than no press. It certainly made me want to come see for myself and when I did I found the type of local pub atmosphere that people expect and an exciting new concept for Warren Street and Columbia County.

  2. It’s not slander and libel if it’s TRUE!! you can’t go crying like a baby because you don’t like hearing the truth. Everything that I have read and I have said myself is true and PROVABLE! Just read the paper, look at the police reports. Joe’s own quotes!!! that he found drug users using in his establishment. That is his own quote!!
