2/2/2021 – Tuesday – snow, clean up, kitchen repairs, “general consensus”

Snow over night

6:50am
7:30am

After breakfast snow shoveling.

Fortunately neighbor Steve had run his snow blower up and down the block.

UTMH team mtg.

Lots more work on OldDodgeVan. Entering all the travel. Setting up views for the various categories. Need to talk with Karen about what we want on the site.

Hip is feeling better. Suspect Karen’s exercise video on Saturday. 30 minutes of jumping back and forth foot to foot.

Fixed kitchen sink drain after the dishwasher drain connection broke. The trap had been corroded through for a couople of years, thus the black electrical tape.

Only took two trips to Lowes to get the right part!

More Jack Irish.

“General Consensus”

Yesterday’s comment during Orton sibling chat brought this exchange:

You can google anything. I googled “is general consensus redundant?”. I
can tell you that it is an actual fact that the general consensus is that
“general consensus” is indeed redundant. Here’s a longer list of redundant
phrases, including “actual fact”. “Is indeed” does not appear, presumably
because the “indeed” emphasizes rather than repeats.
https://grammarist.com/redundancies/ The website indicates they’re
looking for more additions to the list of redundancies.

I believe that the subject contested by Torrey and father was whether this
phrase is a redundancy?

Karen has already weighed in “I’m not touching that one.” I’m in her
corner.

I’ll leave it to you all to take up this hefty matter.
