Friday – 9/16/2011

51 degrees this morning. Forecast is for temperatures in the high 40s tonight. Lit pilot light and lubricated the circulation pump. Everything OK.

Sue Chiafullo came by for prep on gallery sitting Saturday. She talks loud and over you. Hard to get a word in.

Still working on blog posting about marketing to old customers. This piece is getting out of control. Got to focus on finishing a junk. Want to use this as a value add to email. MailChimp.

Talked with Matt Almeida. Always dependable. Other clients absent for today.


Saturday – 9/17/2011

Went to NJ for Meredith’s 50th birthday party. Stopped in Summit. Looked at library, had coffee across from train station. Opening of an olive oil shop. Stayed over in Berkeley Heights.


Sunday – 9/18/11

Drove back to Hudson. Spent day at Etsy at a conference on sustainable small business. Drinks at Swoon.


Monday – 9/19/11

Met with client Timothy Dunleavy. Follow up next Monday. Finished bog posting about historic preservation and renovation. Response to Carole Osterink posting about view from Fort McHenry. Napped. Meeting at SpottyDog about library’s Ghostly Gallop 5k. Skype with Jonathan et al.


Tuesday – 9/20/11

Karen is off to Boston. Met with David Colby at Chamber of Commerce. Reviewed needs for website supporting mobile devices and easy authorship. Talked and demo’d WP on iPhone. Showed home sample posting to currentmatters with picture taken at Chamber. Need to send him requirements doc. from library.

Spent too much time on Ghostly Gallop website and donation system.

Lunch from Red Chopsticks. Watched TV and took a nap.

Went to Columbia Cty Networking meeting at Cascades. 10 people. Pam Geskie taking over leadership. Offered to meet with her and Robert ? branding/marketing consultant.

Dinner at Madden-Quirks on 4th St. Dave Drake, Enid Advocate, and Matthew Quirk. Good food. OK conversation.

Home at 10 pm.


Wednesday – 9/21/11

Finished work on donation site for Ghostly Gallop race. Returned painting to Amy Madden. Picked up book at Post Office. Not very productive. Got sub at corner store. Watched two Law & Orders. Took longer walk up Warren. 1.6 miles. Karen came home. Took nap. Went to Spottydog at 6pm to book launch by Ardal Powell of his first book, “Why We Like Music”. He spoke mostly about the issues in bringing the book to the market.


Thursday – 9/22/11

Bad night’s sleep. Did bills most of the morning. Talked with Danny Brundage. Went to Chamber of Commerce Expo at Basillica. Met Mary Anne Davis from … Who is an artist, runs a dishware company, and is involved Hawthorne Valley Farm. This later fact I did not know until I went to presentation on local enterprises and local capital formation. She participates in that, too. Met others who we can work with to develop a local loan fund.

Walked up to Ca’ Mea to a birthday party for Juliette Crill.


Friday – 9/23/11

Better night’s sleep. Breakfast at Tanzeys. After NYTimes, talked about my lack of focus. Not sure how to change this pattern. Worked on DOG stuff. Adjusted Ghostly Gallop website stuff. Talked with Mike Beach. OK telecon. No Matt Almeida. Then Bill Coyne. Wrote currentmatters piece on contemporary economics. Debugged, perhaps, router problems, slow down on iMacs. Mysterious.

Saw “Money Ball” movie. Excellent, well constructed, good acting.


Saturday – 9/24/11

Early appointment to play tennis. Rained into early morning. Delayed the 8 to 9am. Met Chris at CGCC. Courts still sloppy wet. We talked about his new German racquet. Came back to Hudson. Took walk with Karen. Ran from top of hill by hospital to 5th St. and the Armory. It was closed til 11am. Went on errands at 12:30. Postcards to B&Bs, restaurants and so. Went to Subway – footlong tuna sub. Too much food. Did not feel well. Need to figure out how to eat what I need.

Picked up propane refill and bought some food at Price Chopper.

Stopped at Armory. Took a bunch of pictures. Several finished rooms at front of building, one on right probably 20×25 with ornate fireplace. Gymnasium space big and filled up with antiques.

Worked on Google Webmaster and Google Analytics for riversidebusinesscoach.com

Sold a signed copy of Adams new book. Talked at length with a very sophisticated visitor from Chatham. Karen showed Jeff Jacobson prints.

Opening for Karen’s McCann Family pictures at Great South Bay Gallery. Talked a lt with Mary and Dan Udell. Very opinionated. Energetic. Dan is interested in doing a video project of the library design process.

Made chicken paprikash.


Sunday – 9/25/11

Woke up suddenly at 7:30 tennis at 8. Very groggy at start. Dry weather. Played tennis with Chris Brown. Long session. Did not serve well. Tried out Chris’s new racquet.

Went to Pulver Glass about plexiglass for next show. Glass is cheaper than plexi. Nice guy at Pulver.

Mowed lawn. Discovered that the uphill clean out pipe has been broken off about six inches below top. Will have to fix. Another sign of sloppy work by Don ???.

A number of interesting people came to look at the Adams show.

Had chicken paprika fortified with mushrooms.


Monday – 9/26/11

Late start. Can’t recall work in detail. Broke up a long business blog piece into two smaller ones. Listened to HubSpot webinar at 1pm.

Have decided to really focus on my business coaching business. Need to understand in more detail how to perform Internet marketing. Started on keyword searches. Tomorrow will develop overall plan.

Went for walk along Ghostly Gallop route. Long up hill on Allen St.

Stopped at Swoon for our Scotch, one day late. Talked with Dave. Ruminated about being a bartender one day a week. The couple who sell propane we have met lots of time there.


Wednesday – 9/28/11 

Ran 1.6 miles. Mostly up hill on Allen to Fifth over to Warren then home. 22 minutes.

After breakfast spent time on library matters. Then worked on SEO on riversidebusinesscoach.com. Had turkey sub from corner deli. Realized that there are two brothers there who look very much alike year apart. Talked with one travel ing to Australia and India while the father Abdula made my sub.

Took a nap at 2:30 forgetting about schedule with Anita Harris. She woke up. Ok talk with her ’til 4. Karen came home. Took nap until


Friday – 9/30/11

Worked on 8 Keys to Business Success article.

Talked with Mike Nyerges from MHLS about the library director position. He suggested a public presentation by candidates.

Good discussion with Matt Almeida about SEO and other web promotion processes.

Very strong conversation with Bill Coyne. We agreed to work on web strategy next week. Need to develop a strategy outline.

A few people came to DOG.

Walked up Warren at 6 pm. Stopped at Vico for a drink and octopus.

Had last of pit roast.
