4/17/20 – Friday – various and list of Zoom meetings

Sent notices out to HAL board. Spent most of morning doing digital housekeeping.

Also time spent learning new things about Notability. Interesting feature of recording a lecture or meeting while making notes. The notes are synced to a time stamp during the recording. So, you can tap on a note and it moves the playback to that point.

Bought lunch at Cascades.

Talked with Kim Bach outside her store Verdigris. She complained about lack of workers to help with her online business. Her part time employees are financially better off on unemployment than coming back to work for her part-time.

Birthday Party for Dave Drake

This is actually Dave’s birthday, number 68 I believe. To make sure he has a birthday cake we went all out for a Hostess Cupcake. We hosted a Zoom party with his kids and a few others at 7pm. Dave’s children, Dave, Danny and Margie as well as step-daughter Izzy attended. Pauline Decarmo and Sherry Jo Williams were also there. Ended on a display of some of Dave’s paintings. He has a much more varied body of work than his recent abstractions suggest. Good event.

As I was coming back from Dave’s house in Catskill, I saw Paul Ambrose mowing his lawn. Stopped and chatted about the possibilities of tennis any time soon. Unlikely. As we were standing there Steve Horniak drove up. Chatted for a moment with him.
