While waiting for Karen outside the Guggenheim, I took 60 pictures from the same perspective of a group of high school students from Tennessee, with their chaperones, getting organized to enter through the classically Wrightian portal of the museum. Not sure, but this could be another Flash movie.

266-268 Western Ave, gray building at center, is still going strong…….

Building at 217 Western Ave. that was the former home of Riverside Cambridgeport Community Corp. is torn down to make way for new city-built housing. I was variously on the Board of Directors, VP, Treasurer, and chair of various working committees for this community housing and economic development organization during the late ’70s and into the ’80s.

Big changes on Western Ave….directly across the street from 266-268 Western, the triple decker we bought and completely rebuilt with the help of a government homesteader sweat equity program for $37k in 1977-78, are these freshly minted townhouses selling for $450k.

Some things have not changed on Western Ave. The Ebony Club still in full swing, with its door standing open as always during good weather. The laundromat has a newer sign, but also remains substantially unchanged since we lived across the street over 1977-78. Unfortunately, Phil’s Variety (on far left), in more than one hand since Phil passed from the scene, is now closed.

In Chicago, on the way to Jonathan’s graduation from UW , we stopped at Columbia College to look at book art. This and the next slide show two views of one of our favorite pieces, “Expectant Motherhood”, in the student show.

A Wisconsin graduation would not be complete without some beer.

Inside the Wisconsin state capitol where I took a large number of pictures that may become a Flash movie at some point….. the badger is not just a name on the seal…. it is carved in stone near the top of this immense building…. in place of the more typical Roman/Christian figures.

Atkin’s Diet in action

Went to this poor comedy. Had a good time after the show at Sydney’s with Dorothy and Jim Nelson.

A dreadful trip to middle America at the Nyack NJ Mall was capped off with a very middling movie. The only lesson learned is that we should sit much further back than our usual 4th or 5th row preferences in these 3D flicks to really enjoy them.

A novel solution to the pretty but useless ornamentation on this otherwise well-restored house near “dog-feces” park in Cambridgeport.

Opening for the Danforth Museum of Art (Framingham, MA) Biannual New England Photographers show. Karen has three large B&Ws in this one. This is the second or maybe third opening I have attended for this show, always a big do.

Mr. Wonderful did a swan dive from the bed, thinking, in his sleepy way, that he was achieving verticality….. the floor delivered a wack to the side of his head (good blood flow), shoulder and knees. Karen was startled awake and greeted with, “Don’t get excited, I’m OK.”
