Did set up and course monitoring for today’s HAL Ghostly Gallop 5k walk run race.

J. L. Edwards School building

While waiting for the race to get started I walked around this noe empty building. It looks quite small at street level. But it is in fact a four story 1960s concrete pile. May become Hudson city hall and other uses.

Ghostly Gallop 2011

Despite an ominous Saturday evening marked by the threat of 12 inches of snow and a declared snow emergency, the 11th Annual Hudson Area Library Ghostly Gallop 5K Race/ Walk got off Sunday morning (10/30/11).
I don’t know who won. I managed 41 minutes (much more than twice the winning time to be sure) and Karen came in at 52 minutes.
The kids had their one mile race too.

6/29/2003 – 5K race and Shulman brunch

Sunday

The New Charles River 5K and 5 mile race. The guy to my left appears to be running. In fact, he is a race walker. I kept pace with him for the first mile. By the three mile marker, I couldn’t see him. He finished 3 minutes ahead of me.

That’s me closing in on the finish line. A disappointing 37 minutes, barely under 12 minutes per mile pace.

some pace!!

BTW: After the race was over, the race walker came over and we chatted. He had heart bypass surgery a year ago.

(Thanks for the photos to the official Mr. Wonderful Sports Photographer, Ms. Karen.)

Shulman Luncheon

We also went to a luncheon given by Hank and Flo Shulman in honor of the son Brian and new daughter-in-law Tracy.
