3/27/2019 – assessment challenge, work, tennis

Wednesday

Finished up an Addendum to the Assessment challenge document. Asking for $325k assessment instead of the proposed $$400k. Argued that comparable are not comparable. They merely have the dame tax property classification which is not something that the market cares about. Download the assessment challenge here and the addendum hereaddendum here. Sent it off by email only to discover through my request that they confirm receipt of the documents that I had failed to attaché them in the first place.

Long, boring, at time contentious, telecon with Troy Web. They don’t seem to have a very robust project management system. Then walked up to Seth’s office. Somml announced that the official start date for the AMC project is 3/29/2019. Spoke with Ryder Cooley about writing the white paper.

Image used in real estate assessment challenge.

Tennis at night was very good. Played first set with Steve, Frank and Justin. Fell behind 1-4, ended at 4-6. Lots of good rallies and running about. Last set played with Joe Capobianco against Ted and Joe Dellamorte. Old vs young. Held them to 4-6. Tripped on my own feet and fell on right knee. No real damage. Not a single double fault. Very high percentage of first serves.

Stuck with no plastic wrapped foods.

3/22/2019 – UTMH, road trip posting, tennis, Karen, Chinese food

Friday

Good talk with Karen about the UTMH situation. She said to back off on the idea that my management style doesn’t fit. Focus on chaos of the situation. Then, Seth called to say that he has arranged to meet with David.

Meeting w David and Seth went well. David took responsibility for Wexelman and other parts. When I asked about the budget for marketing events he nodded without answering my real question about how much money we have. Concluded on strategy for Gayle and Ole. We’ll make this a biweekly event.

Feel less oppressed and depressed with more clarity amongst the three of us about the situation and my obligations and theirs.

More work on the Feb 2011 road trip posting

Tennis with Ted at Old Chatham Tennis on clay for two hours. 4-6pm. Played well. Lost two sets 6-4, 6-4. Exhausted.

Photo sent by Jonathan. Taken at opening reception for Photographuc Resource Center Exposure 2018 22nd annual Juried exhibition where Karen was one of 11 photographers displayed.

Chinese food from Red Chopsticks for dinner.

3/21/2019 – UTMH, travel posts, tennis

Thursday

Starting to feel very depressed about UTMH. Little progress, frustrated with people, lack of budget, remote management may not be working for me, David’s craziness…..  what to do??

Meeting with Seth at CMH. Project continues to be doing well though their sense of urgency is low….

Worked on February 2011 road trip project blog February 2011 road trip project blog elsewhere here. Very good work set up with drag and drop of photos in the post.

Tennis lesson was excellent. Working on reforming the drop off the racket of the back swing on the backhand side.

Spoke with Alan Harris about his Euphorium.buzz business for an hour. His wife is the actress Charlayne Woodard.  He is brother of Anita. Love stone product. MrCheckout opportunity. Strange guy. Obviously very ill.

Karen went to her book group. Smoked last of the weed. I fell asleep at 9:15 pm or so just after she returned.

3/20/2019 – assessment response, travel photos, Anita Harris, UTMHH, tennis

Wednesday

Most of morning worked on response to new real estate assessment on 114.

More work on February 2011  road trip photos.

Spoke with Seth then Kurt Lozier at SOMML. Ole reported on his conference at NY Home Health Association meeting yesterday.

Anita Harris.

Tennis doubles at Total Tennis.

3/19/2019 – travel photos, non-fiction book club, tennis

Tuesday

Skipped UTMH team meeting. Spoke with David Ball about white paper. Chatted with David Ackerman.

Spent most of day working on reconstituting travel photos from as far back as 2008.

Went through a February 2011 trip south and west to New Mexico and back. Reminded me of how much I enjoy the driving around trips. This one started in Cambridge for the Super Bowl, then Washington DC, down along the Smoky Mountains, Chattanooga, Montgomery AL (19 degrees in the morning, New Orleans, St. Charles LA, Galveston, TX, Houston, Austin, LBJ homestead, Fredericksburg, Seminole Canyon St. Park, camping a few times, Carlsbad Canyon, Roswell NM, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, NM, Canyon TX, Oklahoma City, Memphis, then long drive back to Ed’s house. Approx. 21 days.

RVW Bridge from Catskill Waterfront Park

Should do more of these.

Scanned through 1/3 of Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. This for the Non-Fiction Book group next Monday.  Too much detail, too long, not very interesting.

Tennis at night.

3/14/019 – UTMH, real estate, tennis

Thursday

Lots of nonsense round the Gayle Gendron mess. David wants immediate action; Seth equivocates.

Took more pictures of comparable houses in the assessment issues. They seem inappropriate in our situation. Part of the problem is our classification as a commercial property..

Tennis lesson at 2:30 as usual. Long half speed ralleys., lot5s of volley practive at the net. Finally lots of work on the spin serve. Finished on return of serves.

3/13/2019 – transformational learning, work, tennis

Wednesday

Late breakfast. More research about adult learning models. Transformational learning.

Walked to PO w Karen.

More crap about Gayle Gendron. She called WW and accused him of going behind her back to Seth. David is ready to part company but wants to involve a lawyer. Told him that was unnecessary. Seth is equivocating. trying to get commitment from Brandon about support and training responsibilities.

Walking back home:

Looked at city re-assessment documents. The comparables don’t make sense. Set up appointment with GAR Associates.

Wrote part of a posting about learning strategies on AD.

Tennis doubles at Total tennis. Played very well, especially serve. Tossing the ball high. Then discovered on the way home that I had left my phone at TT. Drove abck. Building left unlocked. No phone. Went home and look on iPad with Find My Phone app. It was opposite St. Jospeh’s Catholic Church on Spring St. in Catskill. After some calls to Paul Ambrose found out it was at Steve Horniak’s house. Drove over and retrieved it at 10 pm.

3/12/2019 – work, Hudson Creative, tennis

Tuesday

UTMH – Spoke with Sam M about his sales work. Progress is slow. Asked him to send a weekly summary. Team meeting at 11 was chaotic and filled with re-hashings of the mess created during the install of Wexelman and Darby on the test server. Bad decision to do that. Gayle has to go. She is abrasive, pig headed, just plain difficult.

Spoke with Seth further about Gayle. Then Brandon about his taking over implementation and training.

More research about self-directed learning.

Got Chad WAeckler reconnected to various Hudson-Creative accounts,

David A. called about Gayle.

Tennis at Total Tennis. Played 3 sets with a guy named Paul as partner. Won all three sets. Served well. Mixed results on volleys.

3/11/19 – HAL, work, car, Torrey

Monday

Weight 231. Need to cut out all eating outside of the house.

Worked on re-writing facilities use contract for the library. Meet with Seth to watch him train Gayle Gendron on the set up of new customers. Slow, frustrating. In the end she is such an obstructionist…. perhaps Brandon can take on this role. Time to cut losses.

Walked back and forth to Seth’s office. Very nice weather ~ 48 degrees.

Dave Drake drove me over to pick up the car at Wards Auto.

Went by tennis courts at the school. One net up and kids playing. Spring must be upon us.

Talked with Torrey for 45 minutes. Ended with discussion of adult learning models. My AD learning project. The Cycle of Excellence – deliberate practice.

via Skype.

Dinner – leftover chicken, salad and coleslaw with mushed cauliflower with cheese.
