7/3/2019 – web project, work, tennis

Wednesday

Mostly worked on furthering the consolidation of old materials into this website. Lots more to go. Contacted Harvey about going to Bantam Thursday and Friday. OK.

Any scratches??

Went with Karen to Home Depot in Catskill to buy some shades for the back room. Ended up spending $800 for two bottom up-top-down room darkening shades from Levelor.

Brief meeting with Seth and a call to SOMML. They are already on vacation.

Checked out the correct grip size for tennis. Reduced my wrap by one layer.

Played tennis with Ted for 90 minutes at 4pm.  92 degrees, intense sun. Sluggish, perhaps yesterday’s 3+ hours of tennis has its residual effects. Still managed to keep ahead of Ted, though I called off the set early.  New wristband is a help. But this wrist problem may become disabling and require a rest period. Really tired at end of session.

Karen made her signature dish of chicken chunks with chopped cabbage coleslaw. Watched several The Closer.

7/1/2019 – yard work, Russian translation for UTMH, shades, lamb dinner

Monday

Spent a good part of the morning weed wacking the back yard. Also trimmed rose bush. Also work on Russian translations for UTMH RPM app. Had to check lots of entries for current language common on the Russian web. How do you say PulseOx in Russian?

Went to Marigold Home in Rhinebeck to look into shades for the Sun Room which is now overwhelmingly sunny in the early morning. Hunter Douglas shades on display. Sales person worked up a quote for us. $450 of installation costs and more than $2400 for the shades themselves. This is obviously a no go. Next stop Lowes and Home Depot.

I found a container of roast lamb from David Drake in the freezer. Made up a version of roasted cauliflower and lamb curry. Karen declared it to be very good.

6/28/2019 UTMH, work, house, music at Caramoor

Friday

Drove to Rhinebeck to go to Marigold Home to look at blinds for the sun room. Now that the tree has died, the sun is overwhelming in the morning. Hunter Douglas must be to top end. Almost $3000 for blinds for the four rear facing windows. Will look elsewhere. Lowes has items that will do the job for a couple hundred.

Troy Web telecon and Matt Almeida. Then long nap.

Left for Katonah NY at 5:45. Caramoor Center for Music and Arts   and a concert by Roomful of Teeth. Music was fairly interesting, excellent musicianship, doesn’t require additional exposure.

165 mile round trip. Arrived home at 11pm.

6/9/2019 – yard work

Sunday

On and off spent the day cleaning up the backyard.

With the long wet spring, 3 weeks in Europe, and my disinterest, the grasses and weeds flourished. Spent a lot of time cleaning deck and patio. Two big bags to compost with more to come. Need to fix rotten boards on deck and replace downspout drain.

A little gallery sitting, too.

5/17/2019 – work, work, dinner out

Friday

UTMH – met with Pauline Decarmo about collaterals printing. Notes to new sales people. Re-wrote the Tinkering with Capitalism essay. Mostly re-arranging text and eliminating extraneous material.

Telecon with Troy Web. 25 minutes wasted on project management tasks they should know how to do and be doing them. Then rambling discussions, frequently amongst themselves about various trifles. We have to get rid of them. They are expensive but not contributing.

Met with Michael Queralt with David and Seth. 3 hour discussion. He is very experienced technologist and entrepreneur. Next steps may be interesting. He is knowledgeable of the healthcare marketplace. Nice guy to boot.

Spoke with Tony Kieraldo about renewing the utmhealthcare.com website.

Sent note to Linda McNutt and Mike from Kach Inc. about the repairs to the front lattice and gate.

Wrote note to Sam and Dan Sapoznick about blockchain technology mentioned by Queralt.

Walked up to Swoon for dinner. Big crowd at bar when we walked in. Gave up on sitting at the bar and sat at a table for dinner. Two Dewars and two dinners $85. Ole Breuning and Crystal Heinz came in. Ole and I spoke of UTMH matters. I told him that we had been stuck for twenty minutes on the name of a guy sitting at the bar . Finally recalled, Victor Amendola. Ole said, “It was a senior moment.” I corrected him, “It was a senior intermission.”

Karen noticed these fire connections with upside down medallions.

4/6/2019 – opening reception DOG

Saturday

Got up right away. Worked on a solution to mounting the video monitor between the windows on the front wall. Small technical troubles with the driver gizmo creating phantom files. Problems solved. Had to move Ruths vertically oriented video to an iPad on a back wall.

Karen went off to exerise class at library.

Opening from 5 to 7 pm went very well. Lots of people showed up. Ted and Anne came. They know one of the exhibitors, Matt Frieburghaus, a faculty member at Marist. Sarah Sterling, Jude Silver, Michael O’Hara, Ruth ??, Dave Drake, and many others…..

Last year’s sign for the Photobook Show on Winter Walk Saturday. Changed over today.

3/28/2019 – work, DOG, tennis lesson, Maria Manhattan, work

Thursday

Carla Shapiro came to work with Karen on the installation of the season opening show. She is one of the curators. Brought me a present.

Worked on UTMH example pilot project financial analysis. Talked with David A. about Ball Consulting retainer.

Karen had an appliance repair guy come from Ackermans up the street. Leaky dishwasher. Cleaned. Told us that repairing the electric lighters on the cooktop would cost ~$188. We’ll go on using the gas lighters that cost $2.

Tennis lesson was focused topspin backhand. Need to simplify and slow down.

Attended event at the library. Maria Manhattan’s The Box Lunch. Very amusing.  PerfectTen girls made update addition.

UTMH meeting w Seth, Brandon, and James to review backend admin features.  Useful meeting. Lasted until after 10pm.

3/27/2019 – assessment challenge, work, tennis

Wednesday

Finished up an Addendum to the Assessment challenge document. Asking for $325k assessment instead of the proposed $$400k. Argued that comparable are not comparable. They merely have the dame tax property classification which is not something that the market cares about. Download the assessment challenge here and the addendum hereaddendum here. Sent it off by email only to discover through my request that they confirm receipt of the documents that I had failed to attaché them in the first place.

Long, boring, at time contentious, telecon with Troy Web. They don’t seem to have a very robust project management system. Then walked up to Seth’s office. Somml announced that the official start date for the AMC project is 3/29/2019. Spoke with Ryder Cooley about writing the white paper.

Image used in real estate assessment challenge.

Tennis at night was very good. Played first set with Steve, Frank and Justin. Fell behind 1-4, ended at 4-6. Lots of good rallies and running about. Last set played with Joe Capobianco against Ted and Joe Dellamorte. Old vs young. Held them to 4-6. Tripped on my own feet and fell on right knee. No real damage. Not a single double fault. Very high percentage of first serves.

Stuck with no plastic wrapped foods.

3/24/2019 – painting, gallery, Indian music with kids,

Sunday

Slight coating of snow on the ground. After breakfast Karen went off to Williams Lumber to buy more White Dove paint. I was sitting at the breakfast table looking out when she came in from the barn. She promptly fell flat on her face on the two steps up to the deck.Very upsetting to me. She just jumped up and said that nothing was hurt. Probably bruised knees.

More work on Sicily photos. Prepped and painted walls in gallery. Karen painted the doorway in the kitchen.

Went to Hudson Opera House for a concert of Indian music with kids from Hudson performing. Lots of fun. You can hear the kids in the background. As the music gained pace some began to dance around.

Ran into Pauline Decarmo on way home. She gave us some weed to tide us over. We also talked about her design work of UTMH.

Stopped at new store next to Vico. Strange place. The Hudson Underground. The Hudson Underground.

Beer can chicken, spinach, leftovers

3/20/2019 – assessment response, travel photos, Anita Harris, UTMHH, tennis

Wednesday

Most of morning worked on response to new real estate assessment on 114.

More work on February 2011  road trip photos.

Spoke with Seth then Kurt Lozier at SOMML. Ole reported on his conference at NY Home Health Association meeting yesterday.

Anita Harris.

Tennis doubles at Total Tennis.
