3/21/2019 – UTMH, travel posts, tennis

Thursday

Starting to feel very depressed about UTMH. Little progress, frustrated with people, lack of budget, remote management may not be working for me, David’s craziness…..  what to do??

Meeting with Seth at CMH. Project continues to be doing well though their sense of urgency is low….

Worked on February 2011 road trip project blog February 2011 road trip project blog elsewhere here. Very good work set up with drag and drop of photos in the post.

Tennis lesson was excellent. Working on reforming the drop off the racket of the back swing on the backhand side.

Spoke with Alan Harris about his Euphorium.buzz business for an hour. His wife is the actress Charlayne Woodard.  He is brother of Anita. Love stone product. MrCheckout opportunity. Strange guy. Obviously very ill.

Karen went to her book group. Smoked last of the weed. I fell asleep at 9:15 pm or so just after she returned.

Wednesday

Most of morning worked on response to new real estate assessment on 114.

More work on February 2011  road trip photos.

Spoke with Seth then Kurt Lozier at SOMML. Ole reported on his conference at NY Home Health Association meeting yesterday.

Anita Harris.

Tennis doubles at Total Tennis.

3/19/2019 – travel photos, non-fiction book club, tennis

Tuesday

Skipped UTMH team meeting. Spoke with David Ball about white paper. Chatted with David Ackerman.

Spent most of day working on reconstituting travel photos from as far back as 2008.

Went through a February 2011 trip south and west to New Mexico and back. Reminded me of how much I enjoy the driving around trips. This one started in Cambridge for the Super Bowl, then Washington DC, down along the Smoky Mountains, Chattanooga, Montgomery AL (19 degrees in the morning, New Orleans, St. Charles LA, Galveston, TX, Houston, Austin, LBJ homestead, Fredericksburg, Seminole Canyon St. Park, camping a few times, Carlsbad Canyon, Roswell NM, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, NM, Canyon TX, Oklahoma City, Memphis, then long drive back to Ed’s house. Approx. 21 days.

RVW Bridge from Catskill Waterfront Park

Should do more of these.

Scanned through 1/3 of Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. This for the Non-Fiction Book group next Monday.  Too much detail, too long, not very interesting.

Tennis at night.

3/18/2019 – HAL, travel photos

Monday

Cold weather returns – 29 degrees at 7am.

Went to library at 10am to interview Tina Lesem for admin asst position. Very bright, verbal, experienced. Great candidate, Hope Emily hires her right away.

Spent most of day wrestling with travel photos. Re-organizing, downloading stuff from iCloud. The travel file is almost 100 GBs. Started to split it in half.

Avoided talking with David Ackerman. Seth is away.

Found a pile of little travel notebooks. Earliest dates back to 1989 trip to Cascades. Read aloud over dinner the entries for our HK-Vietnam trip in 12/2008-1/2009. One note about how Vietnamese treat children was a reminder. “Everywhere people pick Jesse up almost without asking. He is paraded around and played with. Seems that there is communal ownership of babies.” This happened on the street in Hanoi and also in a restaraunt somewhere where the wait staff, not having much too do, came over and took Jesse away. We had lunch in leave and he was entertained.

3/17/2019 – St. Patrick’s Day lunch, travel photos

Sunday

Karen went out to visit Richard Edelman with others from photog group. She had set up the crock pot with the corned beef cooking.

Dinner at 1 or so. Dave brought beans and greens; Sherry Jo brought salad. We supplied the rest. Pauline’s sister came too. Anita Harris came too.

Spent most of afternoon restoring lost travel photos from 2018.

2/13/2019 – flights back to Boston, then Hudson

Wednesday 2/13/2019

Return car. Pay extra $150 for tolls. Flight to Newark. Wait two hours. Flight to Boston. After helping a young woman and her mother from Hong Kong find their way in the airport terminal B, we got right on bus to car park.

Snow squalls in the Berkshires. Some almost brought things to a halt. Home to Hudson by 9pm.

Ubiquitous iPad ordering/entertainment stations in Newark. Bad GUI – slow, unpredictable results. Progress??

Had to shovel out in front of garage after I got the car hung up on snow bank. Icy crust on top of snow.

2/12/2019 – UTMH work, night in West Palm Beach Rte 1

Tuesday 2/12/2019

Spent most of the morning working on UTMH matters. Wexelman reported to the team at the 11am meeting about Isagenix project. Looked like it is a go. This is a big deal because Isagenix is a $1 billion weight loss company. Also set up for next week’s training in Brooklyn for W’s office and Lifestyle Changes LLC (PA) office. Gayle will lead.

Stayed at ParkView. Very comfortable and inexpensive.

Dinner next door

2/11/2019 – Reschedule, Norton Museum, Cousins’ Dinner

United sent email suggesting reschedule of tomorrow’s flights because of snow storm in northeast. Karen took care of all the arrangements including car rental extension and hotel room for tomorrow night. Flo has seen enough of us and her kids arrive Wednesday.

Went to Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach. Newly opened vast expansion of the building. Continue reading
