1/21/2021 – Thursday – sports doctor visit and tennis blunder

HAL – write note to board about personnel policies.

Appointment with Dr Pregont about my knees, especially my left knee. He has questions about where the pain was and then he felt around and pressed on the knee in various directions. At his direction I flexed my knee various directions. Then he looked over at the x-rays and said well this confirms what the x-rays told me. You have arthritis in both knees.

I asked him what I need to do to preserve my knees as long as possible. He said that I should go on doing what I I have been doing. Playing tennis,walking, keeping active. He spoke of Cortizone shots in the future if needed. Gave me referral to PT.


Tennis lesson.

Got hit in the eye during volleying drill. Held racquet up on edge in front of my face. Ball smacked my glasses bending the frame.  Drew a little blood.

Zoom with Bill and Nancy. She spoke briefly but in ten minutes she was slumped back.

 

Tuesday – 2/14/2017 – Florida Trip

Started with breakfast looking over Flo’s water feature pond with roaring pump across the way where a sink hole had opened.

Drove to Wakodahatchee Wetlands Preserve – we’ve been here before. Lots of birds, reptiles, etc. One mile walkway over swamp. Continue reading →

Sunday – 2/5/2107

at Ryles.

Brunch with the regular crew at Ryles in Inman Square. Got confused about where I was headed, kept trying to drive to Davis Sq. The pull of the long history of brunches at now defunct Johnny D’s probably. Arranged not to sit near Ruth Goodman. Talked mostly with Michael Beach and Edie Bresler, new love interest for Cindy Weisbart.

Super Bowl

Very exciting game during the last quarter. Improbable outcome.


Vertigo continues especially getting up in the middle of the night.

Sunday – 2/1/15

Continuing our Super Bowl Weekend.

Johnny D’s for Brunch with Boston gang. Frank Tadley, Ellen Feldman, Ruth Goodman attending. Spent most of the time taling with Frank. He told long story of a bike ride in early ’70s from Scotland to London. Then drove to Cindy Weisbart’s house. She is recovering from back surgery. Debbie Milligan appeared. Lunch with Ruth and Paul Richards at Cheescake Factory at Chestnut Hill Mall.

Back to Bill and Nancy’s house in Belmont. Weather forecast is for large snowstorm to move in so we care considering leaving to return to Hudson tonight and not be stuck here until Tuesday morning.

Good talk with them over Iggy’s pizza before game. Game was very exciting with Patriots pulling it out in a very unpredictable ending in the last seconds.

Drove to Hudson that evening. Began to snow seriously in the Berkshires on Mass Pike. Near white out conditions on Taconic at end.
