Late start. Bad night’s sleep. Ate last of overly spicey leftover frittata. Worked on CurrentMatters, New banner for site; reorganized Our Situation materials. Nap. Haircut and visit to Walmart. Talked with Brigid Dorsey at 5pm. The Bartlett House people have expressed interest in investing in her business, potential breakthrough.

Thursday – 12/29/2016

Utility trucks anticipating snow storm at Bob’s.
Breakfast at Bob’s Diner followed by shopping at Price Chopper. Started snowing before we headed home.

9am snow begins.
Back home in time for telecon with Nicole Marsalis about her resume. She is trying reenter the workforce after 12 yr. hiatus. Introduced her to functional resume.
Walked to library in snow fall, spent rest of morning working on blog post about gig economy in the academy. Talked with library volunteer Ellen Henderson about winter and falling. Library staff give her a ride in bad weather . She is 92 yrs old.
Had soup at Cascades. Home in time to talk with Brigid Dorsey about her pro formas. Then refused and talked again.
Walked to dinner with Ted Dewsnap and Anne Bertrand at their house on Worth Ave. Dinner is thanks for Karen’s lecture this Fall. Home by 10:15pm

PT with Corey Smith. Took boxes to UPS. Played with new camera.

Karen decorated some stuffed animals.

Drove back to Hudson after picking up new Panasonic LUMIX pocket camera st B&H. Arrived Hudson around noon. Puttered around.
Went to see Fences movie. Extremely good – Denzel Washington and Viola Davis leads. Dinner at Chinese restaurant next door.

Got up at 5:30. Shower, breakfast, on the road to NYC by 6:45. Arrived Andrea’s house before 9am. Breakfast followed by presents with Noah, Nyla and Andrea. Karen showed them the book she had made about our West Coast trip last year. Continue reading
Saturday – 12/24/2016
Rain in the morning. Packed up more DOG pictures. Drove to UPS Store. Closed. Trip to Lowes for temporary night light. Looked for pocket knife to replace the one lost in Washington at the AfroAm Museum last week. Unsuccessful. Just one set of fancy Buck knives svailable.
Princeton Arch Press with Karen. Found lots of good books Xmas gifts. Took nap listening to Open Source on Beethoven.
Wrapped books.
Off to the Spotty Dog for more presents. Including $70 on witty socks. Karen days we managed to spend $500 in total this year.
Wrote note to Noah about my gift book, The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery and the Making of American Capitalism by Edward Baptist.
Dinner at Vico. Served by Lizbeth. Service a bit slow. Place was very busy. Special Italian 7 fish dinner $75. We ate a la carte.
Friday- 12/23/2016

Yarn bombed decorations outside Verdigris. Done by the Thursday evening knitting group.
Woke up late. 7:45. Breakfast at Tanzys.
Talked about the virtual DOG. Packed up one of sets of pictures from the last show. Looked for pop up layer or note plugin for WordPress. Paid bills. Sent summons from taxi company for last May’s accident to Travelers. Also created projected P&L for Brigid Dorsey. Sent note to Chad Weckler withdrawing from active participation in the makerspace projects, Hudson-Creative. Relieved about that.

Plenty of leftover beef stew.
Thursday – 12/22/2016
Late start. Appointment for PT with Anna Marie Zeitsmann. Finally understand focus on upper back muscles. Got new headlamp for car.
Lunch at Camea with Ole Breuning and Seth Lachterman about UTM matters. Good discussion.
Worked more on Angry Old White Guy essay. Also some library emails about marketing. Slow cooked beef for beef stew. 3 hrs at 215 degrees.
Spoke via Skype for 30 minutes w Torrey. He was hand holding a cellphone so his head bounced around during the whole conversation. He and Jane are at their Christmas house above the beginning of the Great Ocean Road west of Melbourne We talked about redefining human identity in contrast to the neoliberal concept. Jane came into view at end She announced that her doctors have pronounced her cancer free Quite amazing for lung cancer that seemed quite late stage six months ago.
Tuesday – 12/20/2016

Got up very early. 6 or so. Puttered around on various projects including library and essay work. Also found Xmas decorations and hung them around. Wrote checks to all of the Photobook authors for sales. Eleven different people this year. A record.

Monday – 12/19/2016
Got up at 6:30. PT with Anna Marie Zeitsmann at 9:15. Making progress on shoulder. Set up daily alarm to do exercises. Karen left for Cambridge and her Soup Group.
Set up living room. 
Sorted through lots of DOG paper and trashed everything but an archive for this year.
Hot sausage spaghetti sauce. Karen returned about 7pm Watched penultimate Goliath episode
