5/13/2019 – rain, gray, cold, work, nonfiction book group

Monday

Nasty weather continued. Finished reading Susan Orlean’s The Library Book for tonight’s book group meeting. More writing in the essay Tinkering with Capitalism – homeostasis. Physical therapy with Anna Marie Zietsman. Lots of muscle and ligament stretching right hip. Met with Seth around UTMH matters. Received draft of marketing pieces from Pauline Decarmo. Was appalled to discover how bad the writing was. Sent note to Seth with angry comments.

Library nonfiction reading group was small. But discussion of Orlean’s book was buoyant.

4/22 – 4/23/2019 – mostly sick…trip to PT….

Monday and Tuesday

Spent most of these days mopping about. Low energy.

Tuesday, UTMH team meeting was buoyant. Sam missed it due to some call. Otherwise Wexelman and Ole held the floor. Some good ideas about details of how doctors use the UTM:RPM reporting tools.

Saw Anna Marie Zeitsman at Fish and Game Physical Therapy. She had me walk around the building. Noticed that my right hip is slightly immobilized and so I am swinging my whole body forward skewing the gait a bit. Overall she still finds things to be in good shape with further opportunities to put off hip replacement. She also noticed that my toes don’t stretch up as much as they should. 5 degrees deflection instead of 10. This could account for my two recent tripping events on the tennis court. I am shuffling my feet.

Received this video from Nan. Anna doing the bars.

Friday – 1/6/2017

PT w Anna Marie Zeitsmann. Reviewed my home exercises in detail.

Talked w Matt Almeida. UTM meeting with Seth and Ole cancelled because David A went home early not feeling well

Hudson HS Girls basketball at Coxsackie-Athens HS at 7pm.  Score was 25-4 after first period,  final score 79-27. Game over at 8:05pm

Stopped at Rive Gauche in Athens for drink with Dave Drake.

Thursday – 12/22/2016

Late start. Appointment for PT with Anna Marie Zeitsmann. Finally understand focus on upper back muscles. Got new headlamp for car.

Lunch at Camea with Ole Breuning and Seth Lachterman about UTM matters. Good discussion.

Worked more on Angry Old White Guy essay. Also some library emails about marketing.  Slow cooked beef for beef stew. 3 hrs at 215 degrees.

Spoke via Skype for 30 minutes w Torrey. He was hand holding a cellphone so his head bounced around during the whole conversation.  He and Jane are at their Christmas house above the beginning of the Great Ocean Road west of Melbourne  We talked about redefining human identity in contrast to the neoliberal concept.  Jane came into view at end  She announced that her doctors have pronounced her cancer free  Quite amazing for lung cancer that seemed quite late stage six months ago.

Friday- 12/9/2016

Set up of shoulder scrunch w back against wall.

PT w Anna Marie Zietsman.

New reading and a DVD documentary at library.

Telecon w Matt Almeida.

Spent most of day in HAL volunteer management software selection process. Arranged demo next week. Finished use case.

Small amount of time editing Angry (Old) White Guy essay.

Went to movies. Saw Allied. Old fashioned but effective.

Thursday – 12/3/15 – physical therapy – shoulder – HAL – UTM

Went for first physical therapy appointment for shoulder at CMH rehab on Fish & Game Rd. A revelation. The physical therapist Anna Marie Zietsman manipulated my shoulder to very positive immediate effect. Leaning, pushing, straps…… Left shoulder is pinched in slightly, probably compensating for the lack of mobility. Will have further sessions. Also showed me how my standing posture could be better.

Lunch at Mexican Radio with HAL Exec. Comm.

UTM meeting with Paul Czajka, District Attorney, and Ed Moore, Hudson Chief of Police. Very good meeting. Moore especially can see uses for the technology. Focused on communications between dispatcher and cars.

Went to Dine Rite Dinner out by CCGC. Just opened. Very good food. $30 for the two of us. Mix of Middle Eastern and Caribbean cuisines. Open for breakfast.
