2/1/2021 – Monday – snow early

Snow forecast

Got up at 3:30 am for ibuprofen for hip. It had started snowing several hours before forecast.

Scanned a bunch of old photos. Andrea and Mark bringing paint back to 266 Western Ave during Great Blizzard of ‘78 in Cambridge.

UTMH – meeting with OSPLabs. Possible new software developer.

Spoke with Matt Almeida.
3pm. Snow

Lots of work on OldDodgeVan.com.

5 pm more snow.
Orton sibling chat. I recalled a summer debate between Torrey and Father when he was 16 or so over whether the phrase “general consensus” was a redundant phrase.

2/10/2019 – snow, lazy day, dinner with David Drake and Hazel

Sunday

Woke up to 3 inches or so of slushy snow.

Mostly lazed around. Karen started cooking around 2pm. Seemed to occupy the whole afternoon. She follows recipes.

David Drake came at 4:30 with new acquaintance Hazel (last name ??). We drove over to Ward’s Auto on 9 to drop off the Corolla for repairs. Dinner followed. Hazel is 73, lives in Athens near her kids and grandchildren. Twice married. Worked for doctors following time in Kingston with second husband with a string of restaurants.

Leaky dishwasher again. Gasket around door gets dirty.

3/4/2019 – snow,

Monday 3/4/2019

Very fluffy snow almost all night, not much accumulation 2-3 inches. But lots of snow on the trees.

Meeting w Seth and David at UTMH about commissions and other. Not very useful. More from Seth about Troy Web and provisioning of new customers.

3/3/2019 – brunch, sluggish day, snow

Sunday 3/3/2019

Up at 6am. Puttered around aimlessly. Brunch at Home|Made Hudson across the street with Dave Drake. Food only so so.

Tomato cobbler with cheese.

…. long nap in early afternoon. Brief trip to ShopRite. Bumped into Ted as I was leaving. Made gore with hot Italian sausages for dinner. Also a salad with lettuce. Maybe getting into more salads. lots of chewing.

Snow started at 7:30. No walk in the snow because there was nothing underfoot even at 9pm.

Tuesday – 3/14/2017 – big snow storm

Karen informs that it was snowing at 3am. I was asleep. A few inches at 8 am.

Saturday – 1/7/2017

Left for NYC at 7:40am. Breakfast at West Taghkanic Diner. Was snowing heavily by the time we got to Mt. Vernon on way to Queens Museum. Somehow we had not checked the forecast. Turned around. We’ll skip Noah’s basketball game. Back in Hudson just after noon. 

Spent most of afternoon working on lightbox plugins for new DOG site. 

Took walk up Warren in what seemed to be really cold temperatures though it was only 22 degrees. Went to art opening at 510 Warren. George Spencer. 

Drink at Spotty Dog in honor of Pauline Decarmo’s 51st birthday. 

Ended evening watching the pilot for TV series 30 Rock. 

Thursday – 12/29/2016

Utility trucks anticipating snow storm at Bob’s.

Breakfast at Bob’s Diner followed by shopping at Price Chopper. Started snowing before we headed home.

9am snow begins.

Back home in time for telecon with Nicole Marsalis about her resume. She is trying reenter the workforce after 12 yr. hiatus. Introduced her to functional resume. 

Walked to library in snow fall, spent rest of morning working on blog post about gig economy in the academy. Talked with library volunteer Ellen Henderson about winter and falling. Library staff give her a ride in bad weather . She is 92 yrs old.

Had soup at Cascades. Home in time to talk with Brigid Dorsey about her pro formas. Then refused and talked again. 

Walked to dinner with Ted Dewsnap and Anne Bertrand at their house on Worth Ave. Dinner is thanks for Karen’s lecture this Fall. Home by 10:15pm

 

Thursday – 12/15/2016

Cold weather is here. 21 degrees at 7am. Probably the high for the day. PT with a new person because Corey unavailable. She added new exercises. Also suggested moving computer screen closer to prevent craning of neck.  Continue reading
