Breakfast and NYT’s.

36th Annual Toy & Train Show at CGCC

Went to CGCC to a model  toy and train expo. Surprisingly large event. Mostly men over 50.

Did buy a couple of cars marked with the Soo Line. HO and N scale. This because I worked on a track gang in Wisconsin during the summer of 1967.

Puttered around. Received call from Andrea about her boyfriend Jeff Cadan’s need for help with a presentation for investors in LMP Motors. Spent 3 hrs developing a draft. Will talk with him Monday morning.

Watched two more episodes of The Americans

Sunday – 2/26/2017

Karen still quite sick with a cold. NYTimes with breakfast. Wrote a response to Joe Keenan then posted on currentmatters.markorton.com . “How Much Money Would It Take to Eliminate Poverty in the US.” – Spent much of the morning working on the search function for the volunteer site for the library. Then wrote instructions.

Walked up to Subway for sandwich and salad for our lunch. Stopped along the way to talk with Joan Damiani. Her art production is very high. She said that she sold two paintings in January. “Never happened before, probably won’t happen again. But, energizing.”

Also ranted about Trump.

New use of this term. Store on Columbia near chocolate store/

At 7th St. park. Had a medallion saying it is a Plymouth?

One or then worst looking buildings in Hudson

600 block of Warren. Reminds me of the student sculptures at the library

In front of The Spotty.

Two doors down from The Spotty.

Ride to Fairview Booze and the Bank

Went on errands and took drive down Kips Lane in Greenport where there is a large trailer park. Deer herd grazing.

Thursday – 2/23/2017

Tooth appointment at 8am. Discussions of the loose tooth. First mention that an implant might be possible. Cost?? Usefulness??

Ellen Feldman spent most of the day working with Karen on various projects.

Drove meandering through Catskill. It really has a better housing stock of the old buildings than Hudson.

UTM telecon with Vilat Keomoungkhoun from IndoorAtlas. They seem not to have any capacity to develop apps to actually use their IPS services. Big opportunity for us. He is meeting with Cintel in Barcelona next week and will show our app to them. Yahoo in mid-March. Knows other opportunities including Simon Group biggest shopping mall owner in US. Seth and Ole participated.

Final work on HAL volunteer website. Went to library to talk with Emily. Ran into Theresa Parsons, her step-son, a psychotherapist,  and his two little boys.

Karen went off to meetings in Saugerties. Arrived back at 9:30 or so. Had Chinese food from Red Chopsticks. Couldn’t eat but half.

Red Chopsticks, Warren St.

Red Chopsticks, Warren St. Don’t know what that round wooden wall hanging means or not?

Monday – 2/6/2107

Up promptly – in car and out of Belmont by 7:40am. Back to Hudson by 10:30.

Promised teleconference with UTM evaporated.

Long talk with Brigid Dorsey about her business. She has come around on her own to the need to raise funds from friends and network. Has reached out to Joe Keenan and his daughter Lauren to help with a crowdfunding campaign.

Watched more of the British TV series- The Shadow Line.  Trouble getting to sleep. Need to be up at 5:30 tomorrow to get to hospital for cataract surgery at 6:30am.

Sunday – 2/5/2107

at Ryles.

Brunch with the regular crew at Ryles in Inman Square. Got confused about where I was headed, kept trying to drive to Davis Sq. The pull of the long history of brunches at now defunct Johnny D’s probably. Arranged not to sit near Ruth Goodman. Talked mostly with Michael Beach and Edie Bresler, new love interest for Cindy Weisbart.

Lunch with Paul and Ruth Richards at Paddy’s in West Newton

Super Bowl

Very exciting game during the last quarter. Improbable outcome.

Vertigo continues especially getting up in the middle of the night.

Saturday – 2/4/2017

Breakfast at Esther’s house. Picked up Ellen Feldman and drove to Addison Gallery in Andover.

Addison Gallery

Excellent exhibitions. Disturbing series on the Manzanar Internment Camp by Ansel Adams, very propagandistic. Surprising show about Triple Candie group that showed things in a warehouse on 126th St in Harlem during the ’70s. See the slide show of things I liked here. Also revisited a Charles Sheeler painting Ballardvale. The ship models in the basement are still a treat.

Karen’s Clams

Drove down to Wollaston Beach in North Quincy. Both beachfront clam shacks were closed for the season. Duh!! Found Burke’s Seafood just off 3A in North Quincy center. Meltdown averted. Food was good, ambience excellent local.

Seen in front of Catholic church around the corner on 3A. Superbowl is tomorrow. Guess Jesus is on the Patriot’s side.

I’m Not Your Negro – movie

Saw this at Landmark in Cambridge with Ellen Feldman. Outstanding, compelling. Baldwin, as noted earlier in the Fall 2016 at HAL workshop, still speaks to us.

Dinner at the Friendly Toast

A Kendal Sq. eatery favored by Elfel. Drove to Belmont to stay with Bill and Nancy. Arrived on schedule at 8:30 pm sharp.

A throwback. Still good. Still cheap.

Wednesday – 2/1/2107

Went to CMH for UTM meeting about Remote Patient Monitoring project.

Very succcessful meeting to kick off the patient pilot. Lots of good ideas from the staff.

Linda departs

Drove to Albany. Lunch at Iron Gate restaurant just across the street from the Albany Institute of Art and History. Wandered around Rte 43 going east before connecting with 9 to go back to Hudson.

Outside Albany Institute

1924 Auto Show Albany Armory – one of many local photographs in a large survey on display at the Institute.

Amtrak Station, Renssalear NY
