5/1/2019 – work, HAL, tennis

Wednesday

Lots of UTMH work throughout the day.

Met with David Murphy at Verdigris . Caught up on his personal goings on. He bought a house on the top of the hill up Rossman. Next to cemetery. Union St. house is for sale. Also talked about the fundraising committee. He agreed to participate. Always good to talk with him.

Played tennis doubles at CGCC. Played poorly with little rhythm. Bad serve. Last set played into the darkness was very good. Played with Paul Ambrose against Ted and Bob Gegen.

4/29 – 4/30/2019 – work, book club, MRI, dinner

Monday and Tuesday

Still underpowered from cold. Foggy and low energy.

Met with Tony Kieraldo at Rev about UTMH matters. He told me about his music tour in Europe and Lebanon. We talked through a new social media campaign to develop leads for UTMH. Bright guy. Also met with David and Seth. The, late afternoon  Ole. Missed an appointment at PT with Corey Smith. This has not happened before.

HAL NonFiction Book Club – picked up Erika Born out in Ghent because Nick was busy and couldn’t come. Good discussion of Drawdown edited by Paul Hawken. Emily, Karen,  Lisa Stewart, Erika Born, Nancy Kuster, Michael O’Hara, Ruth Tamaroff, Juan Flores(new) and Bob Braunlich from SunCommon in Rhinebeck. Michael gave a good description of how a carbon tax could be implemented.

Up promptly Tuesday morning. Enema in preparation for the prostate MRI up in Latham at ImageCare. Arrived at 10:30 back in car at 11:40. 30 minutes in the machine. Wait for the results.

Emily called from the library to discuss how to handle requests from Register Star for video from security camera on second floor that may have caught the altercation between Tom DePietro and John Friedman during a Common Council meeting last week. Camera belongs to Galvan but is recorded on our equipment. The police had come by earlier and taken a copy with Galvan’s permission. Emily will refer them to Galvan for permission to release.

Long nap in the afternoon. Dinner at Dave’s in Catskill. Karen made a salad and I made rice pudding.  Lamb, saag paneer, yellow sauce, cheese cake by Hazel.

8 pm looking west.

4/26/2019 – colonoscopy

Got up at 6 am to take the second round of last night’s laxatives. Third day of this process.

Appointment at 10:30am at CMH.

Anesthetist said that she was starting the propofol drip. I woke up sometime later back in the ambulatory room. Never actually met the doctor, Dr. Blachman. He walked in when I was already lying on my side falling asleep. Everything went well. Everything normal.

Lunch at The Cascades at 1:15 pm with Karen. Miranda Barry and Charlotte Sheedy were there. Charlotte still doesn’t recognize me.

Had a new sandwich, The Catamount.

Catamount (Vegetarian) $8.25
Hummus, cucumber, roasted red peppers, grated carrots, sprouts, and mozzarella cheese with a touch of balsamic vinaigrette served on mixed grain bread

Think this will be my go-to sandwich in place of tuna on multi-grain.

Talked with Matt Almeida. Things are slow on his end.

4/16/2019 – cold, work, web project

Tuesday

Still feel pretty crappy. UTMH team meeting was short – 30 minutes. No Ole, Wexelman or Gayle.

Reading Elizabeth Kolbert’s New Yorker piece, “Under Water – can engineers save Louisiana’s disappearing coast?” (4/1/19).

These two maps jump out as a starting point.

Wrote up a description of the HAL  Fundraising Committee for next Saturday’s board mtg.

Spent rest of the morning and most of the afternoon updating transferred posts. Categories and tags.

Reviewed Karen’s book presentation for tomorrow. Only needs better sense of Parker’s condition, capabilities….

Made chicken salad for dinner.

Watched MidSomers Murders followed by a Veep.

4/15/2019 – cold, web projects, work

Monday

Felt crappy all day. Mostly spent time collecting old materials and publishing them here.

Sent out notice and notes to HAL board for next Saturday’s meeting.

Talked with Seth about UTMH matters.

Still need to send extension for NYS taxes.

Skipped Hudson-Creative meeting at library.

Fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

4/12/2019 – travel project, work….

Friday

Woke up at 4:30 worrying about prostate cancer threat

Spent lots of time on Feb. 2011 road trip in Projects.

Talked with David Ackerman. He sounds dreadful. Also met with Ole.  Discussed good idea to create an automated confurator to connect RPM with EHR systems.

Dinner downstairs. Conversation about Karen’s upcoming speech about her book project.

Debby Mayer posted On Facebook about her local library in San Diego  Reminded me that Karen and I had seen the frame of a new central library a couple of years ago  Found these photos of the finished library.

4/10/2019 – doctor, Cameron Melville, work, tennis

Wednesday

Dr. Subudhi, urologist at CMH. Waited a long time. Less than five minutes with the good doctor including prostate exam. He felt something. Wants MRI first.

Cameron Melville was also in the waiting room. Talked about UTMH, then after he returned and I was still waiting we talked about Bob Adam and his history at the private progressive school they went to in Western MA in the late ‘60s. He was born in 1956. Cameron also revealed that he has prostate cancer.

Need to do research on prostate cancer.

Met with Seth. Discussed various changes and improvements to rpm apps. Also what to do about Troy Web and Turnkey. Also talked with David about hospital in Dutchess Cty.

More work on transaction spreadsheet for 2018 taxes. 80% complete.

Tennis doubles at Total Tennis. Got there early. First play with Justin against Joe Dellamorte and Chad Silver. Excellent. Played very well all around. Especially volleying. No double faults in the entire evening

4/9/2019 – doctor visit, work, library, tennis

Tuesday

Saw Marilyn Miller at CMH. Talked about elevated PSA level, Viagra not functioning and hip physical therapy. Made appointment with urologist for tomorrow. Skipped team meeting at UTMH.

Foggy morning.

Attended volunteer lunch at the library. Spent too much time listening to Pamela Badilla. Talked with Shanekia about her performance at the HOH last weekend. Met a couple of other volunteers.

Looked at more pictures from Sicily and Lisbon for Karen’s book projects. Filed Federal tax extension, then worked on the transaction from 2018 from all of the various sources. Three checking accounts, one credit card, and two PayPal accounts. Got all of the data into one spreadsheet. Now to categorize all of the thousands of transactions so I can create P&L statements for DOG, RBC, and Karen’s artist work.

Lunch at Chinese place top of Warren.

Went to Total Tennis for singles night. Started warm up with a very good 40 something guy. Then Vic walked in with Hanna, a roughly 30 yr old woman who is close to 6 ft tall. She is not exactly at my level, but gets the ball back. We rally to good effect for more than 90 minutes. Good fun. I got to practice not hitting the ball so hard. She is an obvious athlete. Good hands and eye coordination. Likes more pace towards the end.

4/8/2019 – work, travel photos,…..

Monday

Talked w Gayle Gendron about implementation and service processes, then drove to Tarrytown to meet with Ray Velez. Excellent meeting. He was impressed with the financial analysis of a doctor’s office using RPM. Very bright, experienced, aggressive guy. He didn’t blink at the commission structure. Got back to Hudson by 3:30pm. Worked more on apps bugs.Reported them to Seth….

Wrote “Recently Noted” entry about Reich’s new video, Socialism for the Rich Capitalism for the Rest.

Worked with Karen on photos for books about our Lisbon and Sicily trips. Roast chicken for dinner. Ate more of Dave’s cannellini bean dish.

4/5/2019 – work, DOG, other

Friday

Weather was cold and rainy. Snow shower in the afternoon.

Spent part of the morning finishing up hanging the DOG show. Will have to wait until late for the arrival of the monitor for the videos.

Long telecon with Troy Web at noon. Seth almost came unglued because of his laptop failing. But we got through it. TW is still not acting like a partner. Tendency to do just what they are asked with no responsibility for giving us feedback. Talked with Matt Almeida from the car at Subway out in Claverack.

Walked around with Karen to drop off gallery cards at the B&Bs and other.

Construction continues next to Michael and Ruth’s house.

Ruth Wetzel dropped off the monitor at 7:30.
