7/12/2019 – work, tooth cleaning, HAL mtg., drinks

Friday

Breakfast at Bob’s followed by shopping. UTMH – write new collateral about billing process, Troy Web telecon. Talk with Matt Almeida. Tooth cleaning. Looks like another tooth in upper left is infected and should be extracted.

Send this note and pictures to Ted and Chad Silver in ref a conversation we had after doubles night on Tuesday.

Subject: Warhol and the Last Supper
Chad and Ted,
Here are some pictures of this work now at The School in Kinderhook. Chad, you are right about the materials.

This might be my favorite Last Supper. But I also really like the Tintoretto version. Looks like a bunch of inebriates hanging out.

HAL Fundraising Committee meeting at Miranda Barry’s house. New member, Charlie Whittingham, experience fundraiser. He dove right in. Theresa Parsons, Gary Sheffer and David Murphy also participated. Charlie will bring some fresh eyes to our issues.

Ellen Feldman arrived for a weekend visit. Ted and Anne came over for our biweekly drink. Lots of talk about Paris since Ellen has just returned from her three month stay there.

6/10 – 6/12/2019 – airplane illness

Monday – Wednesday

Went to PT at 7:30 with Corey. Very good session. Came home. By 9 I was in bed chilled and feeling terrible. Temperature over 101. Head buzzing, weak muscles but no respiratory symptoms. Also constipation continued. Felt marginally better Tuesday morning. Slightly lower temperature. Spent most of day in bed. Very little appetite. Drank lots of water. Several people showed up at 1pm to hang art. Fortunately she is competent with tools. I had little to do. Karen was off at a doctor’s appointment

Spoke with Miranda Barry via UberConference in late afternoon about Wednesday’s HAL Stakeholder event. Still no appetite and still constipated…..

Wednesday morning showed up and I felt considerably better. Weighed 220 lbs. Down from 227 just before we left for Europe on 5/20. Told Seth and David that I would come back to work on Thursday. More time in bed.

Went over to the library at 4pm for set up of event. Not a great turnout but important foundation people showed up and stayed largely til the end. Spoke at length with Richard Koskey about tennis in Hudson during the 1979s and ‘80s. He asked if I might play with him after he gets used to some new corrective contact lenses. Maybe August.

Went home and got in bed.

New at HAL

Summer reading program.

Costume from Mad Hatter Parade.

4/26/2019 – colonoscopy

Got up at 6 am to take the second round of last night’s laxatives. Third day of this process.

Appointment at 10:30am at CMH.

Anesthetist said that she was starting the propofol drip. I woke up sometime later back in the ambulatory room. Never actually met the doctor, Dr. Blachman. He walked in when I was already lying on my side falling asleep. Everything went well. Everything normal.

Lunch at The Cascades at 1:15 pm with Karen. Miranda Barry and Charlotte Sheedy were there. Charlotte still doesn’t recognize me.

Had a new sandwich, The Catamount.

Catamount (Vegetarian) $8.25
Hummus, cucumber, roasted red peppers, grated carrots, sprouts, and mozzarella cheese with a touch of balsamic vinaigrette served on mixed grain bread

Think this will be my go-to sandwich in place of tuna on multi-grain.

Talked with Matt Almeida. Things are slow on his end.

Walking home from Union St. mtg.

Karen is off to writing event in Rhinebeck. I had Red Chopstick food.

3/7/2019 – library, work, tennis….

Thursday

Met with Miranda Barry at our home. Discuss transition issues when I become president again. More about starting a foundation and setting up a Fundraising Committee.

Only a little UTMH work.

Met briefly w Cheryl Lacona about June exhibit at in the gallery. Think she is going to put too much stuff in  room.

Tennis lesson. Lot of focus on early prep for strokes. Racket up. Also change in stance and racket position at ready at net.

Karen went off to meeting with Woodstock photog. group.

Wrote AD piece on Reich’s video Monopolization of America.

3/1/2019

Friday 3/1/2019

Up early again, 5:30am.

UTMH: Talked with David Ball and Greg Turner at Ball Consulting. They essentially repeated their rather narrow focus on press and media relations when asked again how they might help reach our new target markets. Perhaps now Seth will be satisfied that we can jettison them as a monthly retainer. Move to time and materials basis.

Prepared materials for tomorrow’s HAL board retreat. Couple hours work. Spoke with Miranda Barry about the meeting. She continues to be quite sick with a cold.

Chatted with Matt Almeida who had done very little this week.

Played tennis with Ted at Old Chatham on the clay court. 1 1/2 hours. I played very badly.

2/20/19 – HAL, DOG, UTMH, tennis

Wednesday 2/20/2019

Finished up the DOG website forms for Karen. They are now set up as a database so she can export things  En mass.

Good call with Miranda Barry about David Murphy and a foundation for the library. She had followed up on my conversation with David while we were in FL last week. Looks like a good opportunity to get a significant start on an endowment for the library. Also we talked about possible co-president arrangement.

Spent most of the afternoon with Seth. Discussed customer service requirements and lit of user manuals that Ryder Cooley needs to write. Reviewed bad service situation with Troy Web. Need to have a meeting with Anthony DeBonis to try to improve things. Also talked with David about his Slack account.

Spoke with Anita Harris for 30 minutes. More about her Mom’s house and all of the travails with her siblings.

Evening tennis was just so so.

Potluck Dinner at Rasners.

Cooked Indian dishes. New guy in charge of Olana with his partner. Miranda Barry and Charlotte??. OK evening, but these are not people with whom we are socially at ease with.

Saturday – 1/14/2017

Finance Committee at HAL in the morning. Anna Rachminov, Marie Rasner, Miranda Barry and Emily. Very good cheery mtg.

Noticed exhibition of sculpture from Hudson High School students. I took lots of pictures for a posting on the HAL website. Later discovered that I had missed some in the Teen Library. Will have to return Tuesday.
