Miranda Barry organized this party at Club Helsinki for HAL Board members current and past.

Kimberly Irwin, new Board member met up with Sharon Getty, past member. Teary reunion. Sharon was Kimberly’s grade school teacher.

Late start – breakfast at Bob’s at 9am. Somewhat depressing talk about DOG and DOE. Shopping at Price Chopper.

Gallery had two visitors.

She came to Hudson to meet old Cornell guy, Nick Adams and his wife Laurie Nussdorfer. no seats anywhere on Warren. Warm enough so we sat in backyard. He is quick tongued architecture historian, she a historian of 17th century Italy. She has a relative from late 19th century Hudson who had a photo studio on Warren.

Sunday – 2/22/2015

imageSnowed a couple of inches over night. Just enough to require shoveling the sidewalk. Warmer start to the day. But weather forecasts are for return to cold temperatures tomorrow and over the following days into March.

Went to gym, though abbreviated because Karen needed to cook before a gathering at Gwen Gould’s house.

Mavis Staples at Helsinki. Started half an hour late, clearly suffering from a cold, voice not good. Old tunes, still fun.IMG_9119

Wardrobe malfunction

This was a busy weekend for us here in Hudson. We hung a new show, “Theaters and Theatrical” this past week in the gallery and held the opening reception Saturday evening. Following that we were off to Club Helsinki for Musty Chiffon and the Sex Magnets, headlined by local B & B owner Dini Lamot. By one of those little coincidences, Stefanie Klavens, one of the photographers in the new show, used to hang out with Dini et al back in the ’80s when they were a well-known rock band, Human Sexual Response.
iPhone cameras are handy but not very good.
Sunday evening, after our usual  stop for Scotch at our favorite watering hole, Swoon Kitchenbar, we went to the Hudson Opera House for a production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream by the http: hudson teen theatre project. This turned out to be a wonderful, spirited production. A third sold out evening for this troop.
