Worked library voter lists. Then we drove to Crossgates Mall in Albany in search of rain proof coats for our Netherlands visit. Went to Burlington Coat Factory. Dreadful place. Never enter that store again. Walked across mall to Macy’s. now suffering from early signs of consumption revulsion. Nothing water proof there. Stopped at Dicks where we found two water proof jackets. Saved. Continue reading

Weighed 230. Noticed my notecard dating back to 2009 showed me at 260. Odd loss of weight. Though, I have noticed that I have been indulging in less face stuffing moments. Maybe peanut butter is the key.

HAL mtg.

Went to library about noon. Mtg w Emily Chameides, Carol Pledger, & Brenda Shufelt about volunteer processes. Stopped on way home to talk with Tessy Keller about her dealing with volunteers. She asked for help with ticketing system.

Drove to Albany for dinner and movie with Anita Harris. Snow squalls along the way. Dinner at Van’s followed by Iranian movie The Salesman. A bit slow, melodramatic but also not aHollywood movie.

Saturday – 2/25/2017 – HAL volunteer fair

Karen has bad cold.

Breakfast at Bobs then shopping at Price Chopper and Walmart. Temperature 65 degrees

I worked on the forms on the library volunteer site. Figured out how to get the flow working. Went library at noon. Prop 414 meeting at 1. Lasted almost until 3.

Volunteer Fair followed at 4. Spent most of the time talking with Joe Keenan. About 30 people attended along with the whole board. Fixed problem with the online application form on the fly.

Came home as the 60 degree weather broke in a windy blow. Temperature fell quickly. Got to 2nd St just as rain changed into a downpour. 40 degrees at 7pm.

Friday – 2/24/2017

Very good results from Wednesday’s visit with PT for the vertigo. Symptoms almost entirely gone.

Sent note to various consulting clients announcing that I am winding down my consulting practice. Will only carry UTM and Matt Almeida going forward. Not clear whether I will entertain new clients from HVADC and Columbia Ec Dev.?? Kind of hard to entirely shut the door. Continue reading

Breakfast at Tanzy’s. Talked with Tisha and her husband about their trip to Iceland. Revised notes of Thursday’s HAL history talk by Carl Whitbeck. Rick Rector was there too.

Walked up to library for Board of Trustees mtg. Again struck by the tremendous change in composition of the board. Term limits have that effect.

Meeting in the Senior Ctr room 2nd floor

Stayed at library until 1pm working on HAL volunteer website. Rushed home. Drove to Kinderhook for a demo outside Congressman Faso’s office. More people than a week ago in Hudson. Occupy Wall St style crowd repetition of speaker’s words. We left after about 15 minutes. Ran into Sue Ciafullo at her house wheee we had coincidentally parked  she has just sold her house. Moving to Charleston SC at the end of March.

Stopped at The School for the latest exhibit.

Here are my favorites:

Made tuna casserole for dinner.

Friday – 1/27/2017

Sound of a front-end loader backing up beeping repeatedly at 4am announced snow removal. Didn’t get up until after 8. Heard this poem on radio:

Happy the Man

by  John Dryden (1631-1700)

Happy the man, and happy he alone,
He who can call today his own:
He who, secure within, can say,
Tomorrow do thy worst, for I have lived today.

Happy the man, and happy he alone,

He who can call today his own

He who, secure within, can say,

Tomorrow do thy worst, for I have lived today.

Be fair or foul or rain or shine,
The joys I have possessed, in spite of fate, are mine.
Not heaven itself upon the past has power,
But what has been, has been, and I have had my hour.

Translation from Horace??

Worked on UTM RPM instructions, then more volunteer website for the library. Matt Almeida at 11am.

Walked to library for Program Committee mtg. Good  review of projects.

Stayed art library until almost 4. Then walked to Tom Ferrell’s Auto at Worth Ave. to pick up care after auto inspection.

Went to bank where I ran into the same truck driver with torn rotator cuff  He didn’t remember meeting earlier at Bobs Diner

Karen cooked chicken with beer can in the butt  very good.

Karen’s new iPhone restored successfully this morning. Just need to download all the apps. Farted around most of the day. Time spent somewhat fruitlessly setting up a new iPad that turns out to be just a bit faster than my old one. New one bought as part of promotion at Verizonwireless yesterday.

new iPhone 7 camera at night.
