Tuesday – 1/24/2017

Still sleeting in early morning. Sound of snow plows. Lower back very sore.

Cancelled meetings with UTM. Seth told me that David Ackermsn had a kidney donor.  Schedule is unclear. Money has arrived from Melvilles  

Karen insisted that I call Dr. Rivard, the surgeon. After fifteen minutes on hold he said the back pain had no connection with surgery. Call GP. Karen brought heating pad and Tylenol. This helped. We’ll wait this out   Continue reading

Monday – 1/23/2017

Slow start. Worked most of day on volunteer site for HAL. Brief walk up to 4th St and back. Bumped into Ruth Tamaroff.

Did shoulder exercises. Took a nap. Went to Verizonwireless store for new iPhones. Will go back another time. Too many people. Stopped at Walmart for frozen dinners. Sleet started at about 5:30 – continued heavily into the night. Cars were covered by 8pm.

Watched more of Homeland 6th season. Incision is still dribbling blood.

 

 

Sunday – 1/22/2017

Up early. Oatmeal and NYTimes. Lower back very sore, stiff. Lay in bed on heating pad for an hour. Helped a lot.  Wound from hydrocelectomy continues to get better.

Worked on HAL volunteer website most of the afternoon. 

Patriots beat Steelers to go to SuperBowl. Our first football game of the season. French toast for dinner. 

Thursday – 1/19/2017

Spent day following post-surgery instructions. Not much discomfort. Incision is quite small. Maybe 2 inches. Scrotum is beginning to turn black and blue as predicted. Otherwise not much discomfort excepting an inexplicable sore lower back: 

Spent most of day working on new volunteer management site for HAL.

 

Karen had a rough online class.  Mismanged time.

Saturday – 1/14/2017

Finance Committee at HAL in the morning. Anna Rachminov, Marie Rasner, Miranda Barry and Emily. Very good cheery mtg.

Noticed exhibition of sculpture from Hudson High School students. I took lots of pictures for a posting on the HAL website. Later discovered that I had missed some in the Teen Library. Will have to return Tuesday.

Then, quick stop at Hudson Opera House to see opening of pictures of Alleys of Hudson. On to HAL for opening of Jim Peppler photos.

Friday – 1/13/2017

Got up at 7:30. Went CMH for presurgery physical with PA Jeanne Pierce. Uneventful. 

Read at library. Talked with a Seth from UTM about CMH RPM app. Walked home for telecon w Gabe Zinn. Postponed. Talked w Matt Almeida. 

Hudson HS girls basketball game against Chatham at home. First time at a game at home. Turned out to be quite competitive until last quarter. Game ended at 48-32.  Very unlike earlier game that they won something like 79-43.

Thursday – 1/12/2017

Snowman has melted completely. Breakfast at Bob’s Diner. Delayed by phone call from Albany Med about next week’s surgery. Breakfast a bit rushed by sudden call from Ole Breuning in Denmark. Walmart shopping because Karen needed to visit pharmacy. 

Wrote Program Marketing Process piece for mrktg comm. Revised UTM:IPS pricing sheet for Ole. Took nap. 

Karen taught first class of her online photo course. 6 – 8:30. Nine students. 

Poached pork loin  Very good method.  Watched Youtube video on installing vinyl flooring. Wish I had seen this before I did the office floor.

Wednesday – 1/11/2017

Late start. Snowman has suffered significant melting over night. Angry about mess in house and packing up DOG shipments. Worked on notes from HAL mrktg comm meeting yesterday. Went to library in the afternoon. Got new history of the American revolution, Common Cause. 

Saw Ted Dewsnap and Anne in library. Discovered that I was scheduled to play tennis that night. 

Got to tennis early. 15 minutes of extra warm up. Played very well. Last tennis until the end of February. 

Tuesday – 1/10/2017

Snowman still standing. Missed call from Albany Med for presurgery checkin w nurse. No call back all day. 

Talked with JoeTheGrower Giangrande. Very negative guy. Sent email to Mary Ann Johnson at HVADC about the call. Ball is in his court. 

Continued work on new DOG virtual website. Very successful HAL marketing committee mtg. Late lunch at Cascades. 

Talk witb Brigid Dorsey. She will probably go out of business. Bartlett House people not responding. 7pm reconnect with Susan Weseen about her granola business. She is smart and thoughtful. 

Watched an hour of tv series OJ Made in America with. Then Obama’s fairwell address from Chicago.
