Lots of UTM work. Meetings with Jan and Seth and Eliel. Talked about the long overdue website. Seems that Seth and Eliel are flailing around and each other.
Cleaned up HAL Armory site and worked on new calendar plugin for HAL website.
Hung up the first DOG show. Went to Kay Kenny’s house in Saugerties to pick up her pictures. Had to break in thru screen door.
Saturday – 3/28/15
Went to gym, then breakfast at Bob’s diner. Conversation about free markets and how best to present ideas about how ideas about them permeate the culture.

Picked up book on slavery, cotton and capitalism at the library. Must write an essay about the four or five books that have transformed my view of race in American history in the last few years.
Library Campaign Committee Meeting
Thursday – 3/12/15
Went early to go to Apple Store to pick up new iPad Air2. Then to UAlbany. Led discussion because Jan was attending an executive event at the Business School.
Left promptly at 1:30 to return to meet with Miranda Barry who is interested in the library. Gwen Gould also attended. Met at Cafe le Perche. Miranda is very dynamic, experienced educational media person. Long time with Sesame Street. Now with a new venture StarWalk Kids Media. She is very interested in participating in program development.
Wednesday – 3/11/15
Met with Emily Chameides at the library in the morning. First time we had spoken at length since December. Reiterated to her the need to work on long term objectives.

2:30 am
7 amBreakfast at Tanzy’s. By mistake of wandering attention ended up shopping at Walmart. Bought two new pillows on top of groceries. Will see if they are thin and soft enough.
Meeting of HAL Campaign Committee at house. As usual good vibes. Eileen Halloran, Theresa Parson, Betsy Miller, Betsy Hamilton, Doug Wingo, Marie Rasner. 10:30 – 12:15.
Snow started right on forecast’s schedule, 2:30 pm. Went for a walk up the street. Stopped for hot drinks at Mojo, the new location of Swallow.
A reason to go for a walk during a snow or immediately afterward is auditory:
Stopped at Hudson Opera House on the way home to look at Caprices: The Sculptures of Bruno Pasquier-Desvignes. His website here.
Friday – 2/20/15
The cold is not ending. Temperature at 7am.
Met with Agi Clark at Cascades to explore possible modes for her to engage the library project. 90 minute discussion. She has owned a house in Taghkanic across the lake since 1976. Now living on Warren St. as an experiment. Background on the creative side of advertising. Not a committee person. interested in engaging the poorer parts of the community. Knows Joanie Hunt at Promise Neighborhood. Also spoke of the need to video everything we do. Perhaps get a high school student involved.
Talked with Seth about UTM. Disaster with Troy Web last week not managing Apple app licenses and loosing connection to the CMH app. New CMH website now in web developer slow down…… still spelling errors in the text. More about the aggravations with Angie Keefer. He also now had some nagging damage to right shoulder from a fall earlier in the winter.
Tuesday – 2/10/15
Shoveled garage doorway out so that I could drive car to UTM. In the end, though the storm carried on for almost 24 hrs. it only left 8 inches of snow here.
Meeting at UTM with Seth, Eliel and Jan to discuss development costs. David stuck his head in but did not attend. After almost a year we are still in a situation where there is no plan or none that anyone is adhering too.
Left UTM meeting to come home for a meeting of the HAL Nominating Committee. I scheduled this on Tuesday because David had cancelled the regular weekly UTM meetings on Tuesdays. Because of the repeated snow storms, this committee meeting has been rescheduled twice. Today, out of six members, only Marie Rasner and Gwen Gould showed up. Still a good productive meeting. Talked a somewhat reluctant Gwen into serving as Treasurer for one year. Brian Stickles who I bumped into at KASH just this morning has committed to being Treasurer next year after he finishes his MBA.
Karen decided not to go to Boston tomorrow because the snow storms – 77″ of snow in 17 days – have paralyzed the place.
Wednesday – 1/14/15 HAL board meeting, jet lag
Attended HAL Board of Trustees meeting. Just had a quorum. Bad weather. Very jet lagged.
