2/20/19 – HAL, DOG, UTMH, tennis

Wednesday 2/20/2019

Finished up the DOG website forms for Karen. They are now set up as a database so she can export things  En mass.

Good call with Miranda Barry about David Murphy and a foundation for the library. She had followed up on my conversation with David while we were in FL last week. Looks like a good opportunity to get a significant start on an endowment for the library. Also we talked about possible co-president arrangement.

Spent most of the afternoon with Seth. Discussed customer service requirements and lit of user manuals that Ryder Cooley needs to write. Reviewed bad service situation with Troy Web. Need to have a meeting with Anthony DeBonis to try to improve things. Also talked with David about his Slack account.

Spoke with Anita Harris for 30 minutes. More about her Mom’s house and all of the travails with her siblings.

Evening tennis was just so so.

Went to Total Tennis for singles nite. Played doubles with two different groups of guys. More competitive on average than the Wednesday group. Tall guy Rick with a funny but effective backhand. Very quick hands. Good serve. Short Indian guy Nick. Not a strong hitter but quick, good volleys. Als a kind of sour guy Kevin. Played until 9:15. I had some really striking sequences of shots. Good serving night.

Thursday – 3/9/2017

Worked library voter lists. Then we drove to Crossgates Mall in Albany in search of rain proof coats for our Netherlands visit. Went to Burlington Coat Factory. Dreadful place. Never enter that store again. Walked across mall to Macy’s. now suffering from early signs of consumption revulsion. Nothing water proof there. Stopped at Dicks where we found two water proof jackets. Saved. Continue reading

Went to PT for second visit w Susan Sheldon about vertigo she repeated treatment to try to overcome lingering problems on getting up from bed.

Tennis nets are up early this year!!

Boring UTM telecon w Seth, Ole & Gayle went on for almost an hour. Need to work on marketing plan.

More Homeland and The Americans followed by 30 Rock.  Karen still coughing.

Wednesday – 3/1/2017

Visit to Dr. Esposito for final clearance on cataract surgery. Two more weeks of drops.

Back to tennis!!

Played tennis in Saugerties for the first time since first week of January. Eye sight is very much improved. Played really quite well after such a long layoff. Shoulder bothered a bit so hit slice serves. Net play was demonstrably better. George Traver who joined us last Fall noted that he used to wonder how my good form resulted in so many shanked or simply missed balls. Cataracts.

Wednesday – 1/11/2017

Late start. Snowman has suffered significant melting over night. Angry about mess in house and packing up DOG shipments. Worked on notes from HAL mrktg comm meeting yesterday. Went to library in the afternoon. Got new history of the American revolution, Common Cause.

Saw Ted Dewsnap and Anne in library. Discovered that I was scheduled to play tennis that night.

Got to tennis early. 15 minutes of extra warm up. Played very well. Last tennis until the end of February.

Wednesday – 1/4/2017 – vertigo, snow man melting, and work

Vertigo on waking up. Fell over in bed. Luckily didn’t bang my head. Took several minutes sitting on edge of bed to get going. Looks like more severe type of what I had 25 years ago. Where is Stanley now that I need him again. When I lie prone and hold my head in some positions I get vertigo. Will have to go to doctor about this.

Took repeated pictures of snowman melting in backyard.

Met with Seth Lachterman about CMH project.

Then talked w Anita Harris.

Tennis at night.

Ed called. They will come for a visit Sunday.
